Weekly Reader

Dear Parents,
Goal of Pre-K year is to prepare our children to be motivated readers, explorers and learner. The Weekly Reader is a tool to help children to develop critical thinking and early reading skills. Colorful images and age appropriate non-fiction makes learning exciting and inviting. There is how to use an issue,
  • Point to the cover page, ask how the photo and words on the cover can give clues to what is the issue about. Ask, “What do you think we are going to read about?”
  • Guide a child in turning pages. Point out page numbers.
  • Ask to describe what he or she sees on a picture? How can he or she tell? What else do he or she notices in a picture?
  • Make it personal. Invite child to talk about his or her school day. What does he or she like to do or don't like to do in school?
Enjoy the Weekly Reader together! It is a part of Friday homework.
