Feeling Frustrated is not happy feeling. Everyone feels frustrated once in a while. Sometimes things don't happen the way we want them to happen. We want to go on a playground but not clean up our room. We feel frustrated. Sometimes things don't work the way the are supposed to. We feel frustrated. Sometimes we can't do things that we want to do. For example, jump in puddles in brain new sneakers. We feel frustrated. When we feel frustrated, we feel disappointed. Pre-K friends shared with each other what makes them frustrated. There is what they say,
I feel frustrated when someone takes my toys without permission. (Naomi)I feel disappointed when someone hits me. (Mordechai Yisroel)
I feel frustrated when someone doesn't share his toys. (Rachel)
I feel frustrated when my friend doesn't give me back my pink puddle. (Ema)
I feel frustrated when someone takes my toys. (David S.)
I feel frustrated when someone yells at me. (Liza
I felt frustrated when one of my friends didn't give me a drill toy. (Menny)
I feel frustrated when one of my friends doesn't share with me. (Mickey)
I feel frustrated when I try to talk to one of my friends but she doesn't listen to me. (Eliana)
I feel frustrated when someone makes me unsafe when I am trying to get up the ladder.(Jason)

I feel frustrated when someone makes me eat that I don't want. (Leon)
When we frustrated, we might need to do something with our energy . It's okay to cry but it will not resolve our frustration. We need to STOP, THINK, and MAKE A RIGHT CHOICE. It is best sometimes to walk away for few minutes from the things or people that frustrate us, take a break, and breath - "smell a flower, blow a candle.", then come back and try to figure out what is wrong. Try to talk to your friend, find someone who can help you to resolve the issue, or try to avoid things that you know will frustrate you. Remeber everyone gets frustrated sometimes. Feeling frustrated is okay. The important thing is to handle your frustration in a positive way.
P.S. Dear Parents,
it is time to help your kids to name their feelings. When they feel frustrated, acknowledge it. Talk about your feelings honestly as well.
